Opened on 15th, April, 1991, Yangcheon Gu Council is the legislative body organized to deliberate & decide the policies & legislation, residents' obligations and other matters related to the district policies of Yangcheon Gu and exercises control function of district policies through administrative audit & inspection as the representative of the district's people.
18 members of the 5th district council elected on 31th, May, 2007 are divided into Council Steering Committee, Administrative Economy Committee & Welfare Construction Committee and speak for the district's people in every field under the legislative aim of 'Open legislature, Participating local self-government'.
