In Yangcheon Gu, there are 107 educational institutions, 47 kindergartens, 28 elementary, 18 middle and 14 high schools. Recently, Yangcheon Gu was designated 'Special district for entering Foreign Language High School which reflects the great educational devotion of parents. To support it, Yangcheon Gu is concentrating on improving educational environment so that students receive a good education.
In addition, it was selected as Lifelong Study City by the Ministry of Education & Human Resources Development in 2005. Consequently, 1,928 lifelong study institutions including a self-governing center of residents, building network and support to take charge of lifelong study of residents to 'realize Ubiquitous Lifelong Study System everyone can participate whenever & wherever.'
